David BAKER and Mary WEBB were married about 1779 in Burke Co., North Carolina. Mary WEBB was born on 18 Dec 1762. She died on 16 May 1793. The family story is that Mary and 'several' of her children died of milk poisoning. However, of her six known children, all were still alive and expressly mentioned at the time their father David executed a will in 1838. David BAKER and Mary WEBB had the following children:

David BAKER and Dorothy WISEMAN were married on 9 Aug 1793 in Burke Co., North Carolina. In an initial pension application based on David Baker's Revolutionary War service, Dorothy stated the marriage was in 1795. She later filed a corrected statement that the marriage was in 1793. Dorothy WISEMAN (daughter of William WISEMAN and Mary DAVENPORT) was born on 5 Feb 1765 in South Carolina. Dorothy's date of birth is shown as October 5, 1767 in the bible of her son Josiah. She died on 23 Aug 1855 in Bakersville, Yancey Co., North Carolina. David BAKER and Dorothy WISEMAN had the following children:
